Dear Parents

We are getting back to normal now that the classes have been re-divided. We are welcoming Malak and Abdallah into our class. It looks like they will both be successful additions.

We have started several new projects. The long-awaited Washoe/Mr. Sean/Students vocabulary challenge is kicking off.

We are also working on a book to commemorate our school year and the new newspaper should be out by the middle of next week.

We are also studying adverbs, brushing up on some points of grammar, and learning our new roles within the class.

There are also several students who are doing extra work on their handwriting. If your child is one of these students they are required to finish three handwriting assignments before they go to break on Thursday. They are not allowed to do more than one per night.

The goal is constant improvement and better work habits.

The Newspaper Staff

We are adding new responsibilities to our newspaper. We will now have regular columns and features. This will ensure that more of our students see their work in the newspaper and also give students a chance to take on more responsibility.

We hope to continue to receive contributions from the Fantastic Class, now being ably instructed by Miss Maggie.

The Odyssey Page 25

Odysseus was very happy to be back on Ithaca. His island was so beautiful. He was glad that his friend Athena was helping him. He went into the castle. He was still pretending to be a beggar.

He saw all the men who wanted to marry his wife. They were in his castle, drinking his water and eating his food. He saw his wife bringing them food. She looked so sad. She had to bring them food because they were guests.

He asked one of the men for some food. "Stupid beggar" said the man. He kicked Odysseus. Odysseus didn't move. The man looked at him strangely but then went back to eating.

Odysseus asked another man. That man was very rude. He slapped Odysseus' face. Odysseus started to get angry. He knew he couldn't fight the men. There were 50 of them and he was just one man.

He was angry at his wife. When Odysseus lived in the castle, no one was ever rude to beggars. Odysseus believed that you should help people weaker than you.

Suddenly there was a big fight.

Thank You Parents and Students

For all the times the blog didn't work.

For being patient while we made sure that we got the best new teacher we could for your students.

This is an exciting time at Pioneers. Maggie Dobbins is joining the team and we will be working together to give your children the best education available.

I will slowly be moving all of the old information over to this blog. Hoepfully this blog will not have the same problems the other one did.

Thank you again. Your support means a lot to us and to the school.

The Best Post Ever

This is our new blog. Read it and rejoice. Mr. Sean has returned
