This Week in 5A

This is a short week in 5A. We had today off and we won't have class on Wednesday. This week we are going to be focusing heavily on reading.

We have one group of students that just finished "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing"

Will be working in our Scott Foresman reading books. We will start with the "Cowboys" story, and continue on to "the Jingle Dancer."

This group will be working on their chapter books. Hopefully we will all complete the book we are working on this week or early next week.

We added a new poster in class so everyone can keep track of what books they have read. It is one of our goals that every student finish four books this year and we are going to meet that goal easily. By the end of this month, every student will have finished two.

We are also going to finish studying Tsunamis and hopefully make a model of how volcanoes form islands using candles and a wading pool. Then we will bombard our makeshift world with meteors to create tsunamis.

Also this week our word wall will begin to take shape as we add many science words. I missed one student but without my list of groups I can't remember who. If its you, leave a note and I'll give you +1.
