Chick – A baby chicken is a chick

City – A city is a place where a lot of people live together. Nablus is a city. Ramallah is a city. Washington is a city.

Cloud – A cloud is the white thing you see in the sky before it
rains






Century – 100 years. The century we were born in is the 1900s.

Company – A company is a business. The company that makes cola is Coke. Last year we visited a company that makes ice cream.

Course – A course is a lesson. You are taking courses in English, science, and Arabic

Base – A base is a place where armies keep all their things. On a base you will find soldiers, guns and tanks

Board – A board is a piece of wood that you use to build things.

Crop – A crop is a plant that you grow to eat. Tomatoes are a crop, onions are a crop.

Danger – Anything that can hurt you. A lion is a danger if it isn’t in a cage.

Dictionary – A dictionary is a big book that tells you what words mean.

Current – Current is the way a river moves. If you put a boat in a river, the current moves the boat.

Zebra – A zebra is like a horse with black and white stripes. Google zebra to see a picture.

Increase – Get bigger. Every year the number of students in the school increases.

Husband – When a man marries a woman, the man is called the husband.

Wife – The woman is called a wife.

Government – The government is what runs a country. The president is the head of a government.

Ground – You walk on the ground. You can dig holes
in the ground. The ground is under you.

Neighbor – the person who lives next to you.

Microwave – you use it for cooking some things.



Operate – Use a machine. You operate a car. You operate a microwave.

Port – a port is the place where ships arrive into the land.

Sheet – a sheet goes under you when you are sleeping. It is like a blanket but thinner.

Blanket – a blanket goes on top of you when you are sleeping.

Pillow – The thing you put your head on when you are sleeping.

Property – Land you can own. Your house is built on property.

Provide – A verb. It means to give someone something. Your mother provides you with food.

Pound – to hit hard. A hammer pounds a nail into wood.

Seat – a place you sit. Your chair is a seat
